Spend LESS time doing stuff that you hate. Don’t always waste your time trying to force your way through exercises that you can’t stand doing. We’re all entitled to lazy days, so there will always be times that you have to drag yourself to a vertical position, but there’s no need to continually punish yourself by partaking in crappy workout sessions.
Look for new exercise opportunities that you normally wouldn’t even think about. You have to clean the house anyway, right? So, why not pump up your favorite CD, and clean at a quick pace – going room to room without stopping? Changing the way that you complete everyday tasks can help you burn calories and keep you from having to endure grueling sessions at the gym.
I used to think that running was the only way for me to really burn calories, so I pushed myself through horrible runs on the treadmill, at tracks, and outside on the road. Each time, I felt like crap because I hated running so much, but I kept telling myself that it was good for me.
After learning more about physical fitness, I realized that there were many, many alternatives to running, and I decided not to make myself do something that I hated any more. Now I do throw a 3 mile jog into my exercise routine every now and then, but it doesn’t bother me because I know that I don’t have to do it.
Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!
