It’s totally understandable that you want to start out the year with a running start. You’ve made up your mind to start your journey to a healthy lifestyle, and you want to go after it with everything you have while you’re still in the mood.
While being motivated is surely a good sign, be sure to temper your enthusiasm lest you burn yourself out by Valentine’s Day (or worst yet – by MLK Jr’s birthday). Be in LESS of a hurry to get things started in full force for 2007.

In 2007, I vow to “stick to the original plan.” At the beginning of each week, I have an awesome schedule that includes work obligations, down time, and workout time. Mon-Wed, I’m usually good to go, but something always starts to go wrong when the alarm goes off at 4:45am on Thursdays. All of a sudden, I feel tired and grumpy and sore and resentful…and did I mention tired? This year, I’m going to find a way to be cheerful about my early morning workouts.
