Appetizer
Eat less of them, but don’t eliminate your favorite foods even if they are high in fat, sugar or salt.
Main Course
The most popular health & diet gurus don’t always seem to remember this, but let’s be real – eating is not just about sustenance. It’s also a form of enjoyment and an excuse to get together with family and friends. Given this, it’s just not realistic (or necessary) to completely eliminate all of your favorite foods from your diet.
The key to enjoying your faves is moderation. Don’t partake in special treats every day but save those calories and splurges for specific events like cake & ice cream at a family birthday party, decadent dessert at a trendy restaurant, nachos at home for an occasional Blockbuster night…
When you allow yourself to indulge every now and then, you won’t feel deprived and you’ll be less likely to completely go overboard after a bad day.
Dessert
Those of you who are regular readers already know what my “I-can’t-live-without-’em” food is…drumroll here…PANCAKES, PANCAKES, PANCAKES!!!! Woohoo!
I don’t have them every day or even every week, but oh when I do indulge…Life Is Good.
